Concept Art Analysis

Concept Art Analysis Xenoblade Chronicles The concept art here is concept art created for the 3DS port of Xenoblade Chronicles in 2015. While I cannot find who drew it or exactly when it was drawn, I can make a guess that it was drawn sometime between late 2014 and the release date of the port, that being April 2nd, 2015. The game was developed by Monolith Soft, with the directors being Koh Kojima and Genki Yokota. The company has also worked on the Xenosaga series as well as a small amount of licensed games for other brands.  The strong elements in this design are the main character Shulk with his weapon called the Monado at the front, showing off the most important character in the plot of the game as well as something else of high value to the plot, and the large amount of the colour green as well as the large open area in the distance, showing that the areas in the game are not only covered in nature, but are also large and open to explore. Narrative

Narrative The writers for each of the stories establishes their characters and/or describes the setting at the start. Then, they establish the plot and conflict that is happening in the story. The theme is usually subtle and would take further analysis to see. The stories make me feel intrigued due to the mysterious nature of them. The short stories tend to be more subtle since there is only so much that can be expressed with 50 words.  In the games and films we have been studying, the writer of the stories usually has some sort of theme that is represented throughout the duration of the story. The characters and settings usually get established early on and the plot develops throughout. It was the end. The gaffer caught word of my betrayal. I was sick of him selling his nose candy to the young’uns so I exposed his crimes to the bizzies. The one chap I trusted ratted me out to him. His pistol, pointed to my noggin, popped my clogs.

Powerpoint Presentation Analysis

Powerpoint Presentation Analysis Today I worked with Owen to create a Powerpoint presentation to analyse the artwork of our favourite games. Owen chose to look at Tomb Raider, I chose to look at Xenoblade Chronicles and we both chose to look at Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Together, we analysed the concept art of the three games, typing down what it makes us think of and what we can tell about the games. Tomb Raider Owen commented on how the picture looks dull and damp which suits Lara's mood at that current point. He also commented on the shipwreck in the background which could show the situation Lara had just been through. He commented that the storm could also be there to show Lara's mood. He also commented on how Lara is clutching her arm which shows us that Lara had sustained an injury. Xenoblade Chronicles I had commented on how the size of the world shown here represents the scale of the story told and the journey that the characters had gone through...
