Task 4

Task 4 Analysis The initial ideas I had were to design a new type of weapon so I sketched down some ideas for weapons I had. But drawing the firearms and the medieval style weapons gave me the idea to design a knight who uses firearms. So I wrote down my ideas for a character like that and the type of world he would live in. In my moodboards I included different types of armor, different types of firearms and different poses with guns. The armor moodboard was so I could get inspiration for what the character's design would be. The design I eventually settled on is mostly inspired by the armor set on the far right of the top row on the armor moodboard. The firearms moodboard was so I could get inspiration for what weapons my character will be using. While the idea for my character was for him to use multiple types of firearms, I decided on using a pistol and a mini gun for his base design. Concept Art Analysis

Concept Art Analysis Xenoblade Chronicles The concept art here is concept art created for the 3DS port of Xenoblade Chronicles in 2015. While I cannot find who drew it or exactly when it was drawn, I can make a guess that it was drawn sometime between late 2014 and the release date of the port, that being April 2nd, 2015. The game was developed by Monolith Soft, with the directors being Koh Kojima and Genki Yokota. The company has also worked on the Xenosaga series as well as a small amount of licensed games for other brands.  The strong elements in this design are the main character Shulk with his weapon called the Monado at the front, showing off the most important character in the plot of the game as well as something else of high value to the plot, and the large amount of the colour green as well as the large open area in the distance, showing that the areas in the game are not only covered in nature, but are also large and open to explore. Narrative

Narrative The writers for each of the stories establishes their characters and/or describes the setting at the start. Then, they establish the plot and conflict that is happening in the story. The theme is usually subtle and would take further analysis to see. The stories make me feel intrigued due to the mysterious nature of them. The short stories tend to be more subtle since there is only so much that can be expressed with 50 words.  In the games and films we have been studying, the writer of the stories usually has some sort of theme that is represented throughout the duration of the story. The characters and settings usually get established early on and the plot develops throughout. It was the end. The gaffer caught word of my betrayal. I was sick of him selling his nose candy to the young’uns so I exposed his crimes to the bizzies. The one chap I trusted ratted me out to him. His pistol, pointed to my noggin, popped my clogs.
